Sajni's Third Month

Sajni is 3 months old. Infact 3 months and a week old. Oh My God !!! Its so beautiful.... I mean being a mom of Sajni .. it is so wonderful. I am making this statement at 3 months, guess what will I feel later on, especially the stages when she crawls, walks, talks.... She is such a delight to watch. She is keeping the whole family at her toes. She likes to be pampered and screams when she is left alone even for a minute. When she wakes up after a nap, she has to see one of our faces, either her thata, ammama or her mom. And then she likes to be konjified and then there appears one of the beautiful smiles. The best smile I would say in the whole world. She is such a cutie pie. Her 2 month to 3 month has passed by so quickly meaning she is keeping us really busy. She has started to babble a few words and some of them even sound like amma ... No No its not me, I am not exaggerating. people around me say so... She moves from one end to another in her bed. Is able to move her hands and legs well. Infact she has better control of her hands and her neck. Her neck is almost standing well without any support. She tries to do the ammama kozhakattai brings both her hands to her mouth but then puts her hands in to her mouth. Also she is spitting a lot. My friends say she could be teething... I wonder if she could this early..
Sajni and I are trying to get a routine. We read a book when she wakes up in the morning. The best thing still continues, her sleeping well in the nights. Some days she sleeps well for 4 hours and the healthy mommmy I have become.. We try to play during the day. She playes the Saidhadhu amma Saidhadhu only with her ammama. How hard I try to play that game with her, she somehow isnt interested and she plays it beautifully with her ammama. Her 3rd month has been wonderful and I am so excited and waiting to see Sajni growing...

Here is how she looks when completed 3 months..

Namakarnam

We celebrated Sajni's Namakarnam today Sep 2nd 2009 and yippe Sajni's name was written on rice paddy. Her name is official in the traditional world.. She enjoyed every bit of the proceedings and turned cranky only towards the end that too due to hunger. She keenly listened to the vathiyar chanting the mantrams. Ofcourse, she is familiar with the sound of mantrams as she listens to her tatha chanting them everyday... Srini and I also collected her first ever portrait pictures from the studio today. Overall it was a great day for us...

Sajni's Second Month

Sajni is two months old now. Her two month check up with her pediatrician went on very well and she was called a "perfect" baby. She indeed is one. She has achieved her milestones and the sweetest and cutest thing now is her smile. I guess you can do anything in this world for that one cute smile of hers. She recognizes very well her mommy, dad, thata and ammama. She loves to have people around her and at this stage is welcoming strangers as well with her cutie cutie smile. She hates to be left alone which you can tell with one loud cry of hers. Her favorite person now is her thata. She plays with him every morning and noon for atleast 20 – 30 mins. I wonder what magic he has on her to attract her without even holding her. That’s the magic of grandparents…..

She welcomed her big big bro and enjoyed the couple of days with him.She is trying to turn-over now.. I know its too early but she does make a good attempt at it. Her neck seems to have gotten stronger and very soon I guess she will not need our support for her neck.. Now towards the end of the second month another big thing is happening… Yipee.. Yes, she is sleeping thru the nights.. only waking up for her feeds and diaper change.. That’s the biggest achievement for me… I am slowly getting more sleep .. I am beginning to enjoy motherhood now bypassing the initial fearful days … Sajni is wonderful and the best thing that has happened to me…

Here is how she looks now...

Thottil Ceremony

We celebrated Sajni's Thottil ceremony on the 26th. We invited a few of our friends and it was a nice get-together for us after 5 weeks of sleepless nights. Sajni was well behaved and slept through the entire evening. She is so lucky as she was showered with lots of gifts from our friends. It was a nice memorable evening.... Her first party at home... I am sure she loved being pampered...

Sajni's First Month

Yesterday was Sajni’s first month birthday. I cant believe that she is already a month old now. I am still pinching myself to see if this is all a dream. I proudly look at her as she is wearing a cute little onesie that says “ I am mommy’s dream come true “ . Sajni is the best thing that has happened to Srini and I. Life has changed so much since June 16th. The first time I looked at her and held her in my arms… I knew what I would have missed had Sajni not happened… She is now a comfortable one month old out of the mother’s womb. Her one month pediatrician visit certified that she is an interactive baby. Yes, she is now able to recognize the voices of the members of her family right now… mommy, dad, grandpa and grandma.. She is no longer a small little doll that she was on the first day. Now she coos, grunts, cries, smiles and kicks … Yes , she kicks her left leg really hard when she is hungry… until she is fed. .. She is such a cutie pie and my complaints of sleepless nights vanish with one look at her little princess. Srini I should say is a wonderful dad. Little munchkin loves to spend time with him in the evenings and nights especially between 10pm and 12 am where I get to sleep. And she loves the tummy time that her dad gives her . My mom and I are so scared when he does that but LO seems to enjoy that. We love all of sajni’s expressions but the best so far is when we burp her. She has achieved her first month milestones. She seems to be getting naughtier day by day…  She exhibits her anger and she moves 90 degrees in her bassinet while she is asleep and cries until she is being held.

Life is at its best now and srini and I look forward to the wonderful days of parenting Sajni.

Hello World

Welcomed with joy & love Sajni Srinivasan
